The Virtual Disgrace™ Owner Remote

The Virtual Disgrace™ Owner Remote is a convenient alternative to chat commands. It is compatible with PEANUT collars and with N° 9 collars when the sub is wearing the [ N o. 9 ] Button HUD.

Getting Started

To make use of the Remote, you will have to add your subs first!

Just meet up in the same sim and make sure you are given access to their collar. That means you are either added as an Owner or Trusted or have the avatar currently captured or they have Public access enabled.

Then click the gear/options button to open the Remote menu. Here you just have to click Add and you will be prompted with a list of avatars who's collar currently grants you access.

You can also print a list or remove partners in this same menu. To select them, just click the arrows, or if you want to address everyone at once, the ALL button. On the Remote GUI itself just click the "people icon" to cycle in between partners or everyone.

Using the Remote

Select your sub (or ALL) and try out any of the buttons. Keep in mind that you have to be in the same sim for things to work. This HUD is an alternative to chat commands, it is not some kind of clinical inter-sim control device. We want to encourage personal interaction. ♥

Most features of the remote are self-explanatory and already explained on other manual pages, but there are some things that are unique to only this kind of HUD.

Following your sub

Clicking the follow button will make you follow your own sub. Technically that means that you cannot have them leashed, obviously a person cannot drag you around with a leash around their neck (outch) but they can pull you in other ways! Use your fantasy!

You could be sitting in a soapbox, or in a cart that is dragged by a pony girl, or you could simply be lazy and have your sub walk you around your favorite shopping event, so you all you have to do is enjoy.

To stop following simply click on the Stop button that replaces the Follow icon when you are currently following your sub.

Leashing your sub

The leash button is a toggle, meaning that you can grab the leash with the same button that you use to unleash your sub. When you have your sub leashed, the button will display a "broken chain", when not leashed it will display the chain as a whole. Our philosophy on buttons is to have them show the action that you would do by clicking them, just like the Play and Stop buttons for playing and stopping poses.

Strip!

This feature has to be installed on the collar of the sub, otherwise this button will do nothing! This is only available in PEANUT and N° 9 collars. If the feature is correctly installed, clicking the button will provide a selection of items to strip. Sometimes it is useful when subs to a little Setup to make stripping more fun, you can learn more about it on this page.

Adding Landmarks & Teleporting your sub

You can add landmarks to your remote simply by dragging the landmark from your inventory onto the remote HUD. To keep things tidy, we recommend to rename the landmark first to a single name, but that is not necessary, it's just nicer to look at in the menu!

Once you have the landmark in there, click the button with the map icon and send your sub to the destination of your choice. Keep in mind that when you wish to send your sub away, they will have to be able to do that, meaning: You cannot forbid them to "Stray", have them strict-leashed, or have them strict-sat on some furniture, and then expect to be able to teleport them when it is blocked by RLV means.

The remote will prompt you to follow them to the same destination, select Yes or No, and there you go!

When you end up with a lot of landmarks that you no longer need, you can go into the options menu of the remote (the gear icon) and click the Landmarks button. Here you can delete old and dusty landmarks.

Rezzing stuff

The magic wand button lets you rez stuff! At the time of this writing you can rez two types of leash posts, a classic type, and an interactive balloon (yeah, that may not be the most reliable leash post haha). If the new remote becomes popular, we might add more things that can be rezzed through it.

Keep in mind that for this to work you have to be in a sim where you can rez! Duh!

Attaching & Style

Your Remote will unfold differently depending on which HUD spot you chose to attach it to. That means a Remote attached to the Top Left will maximize towards the right and from top to bottom and a Remote attached to Bottom Right will maximize towards the left and from bottom to top.

You can also choose in between horizontal and vertical styles, as well as shift the buttons into a block or a straight row. This is rather important as we all know how precious HUD space is and if you play some with that you should be able to fit your Remote so it works just perfectly for your particular setup. A fully unfolded, single row, vertical Remote at default size will comfortably fit in a maximized viewer window on a HD resolution computer screen.
